Dietitians' Day 2011

Finally!! After all the planning and preparation over the last couple of months, our inaugural Dietitians Day at our hospital went well with all the help and support from many of you.

More than 250 participants turned up on our public health awareness event, in conjunction with the Dietitians Day held at our hospital on the 8th March 2011. Our aim for the event was to create awareness amongst patients, staff and visitors on the role of good dietary choices in curbing obesity. As such, your generous contribution helped make our event’s aim a reality.

A BIG thank you to everyone, including staff in our hospital who collaborate with us or even by just turning up at our stations on that day itself to participate and wish us good luck, not to forget our suppliers with their kind sponsorship and/ or booth display and volunteers from Singapore Polytechnic.

Also, special thanks to all my lovely colleagues for the support on that day.

Thanks HH for all the guidance and advice
Thanks AN for being the co-runner
Thanks LF for being the IC @ the "Guess the amount of calories"

Thanks GM for being the IC @ the "Cooking Party"

Thanks CC for being the IC @ the "Know your BMI"
Thanks Val for being the IC @ the PA system

Our event would not have had this great success without you all.

With students from Singapore Polytechnic

Honestly, I really like organizing event. And, I am really glad and honoured to be given a chance to run this event. I was supposed to be in-charge of the World Diabetes Day last year, however it was stillborn due to the Healthcare Day that happened be on the same week. The responsibilities for Dietitians Day fall on me when my colleague who was supposed to be the in-charge felt that she could not cope with the increasing workload.

I really appreciate the opportunity given and I must say that I have learnt a lot from the event. Thank you very much my dear all. Your support in our health promotion event is truly appreciated. Cheers.

  1. Irrespective of receiving daily oral or future injectable depot therapies, these require health care visits for medication and monitoring of safety and response. If patients are treated early enough, before a lot of immune system damage has occurred, life expectancy is close to normal, as long as they remain on successful treatment. However, when patients stop therapy, virus rebounds to high levels in most patients, sometimes associated with severe illness because i have gone through this and even an increased risk of death. The aim of “cure”is ongoing but i still do believe my government made millions of ARV drugs instead of finding a cure. for ongoing therapy and monitoring. ARV alone cannot cure HIV as among the cells that are infected are very long-living CD4 memory cells and possibly other cells that act as long-term reservoirs. HIV can hide in these cells without being detected by the body’s immune system. Therefore even when ART completely blocks subsequent rounds of infection of cells, reservoirs that have been infected before therapy initiation persist and from these reservoirs HIV rebounds if therapy is stopped. “Cure” could either mean an eradication cure, which means to completely rid the body of reservoir virus or a functional HIV cure, where HIV may remain in reservoir cells but rebound to high levels is prevented after therapy interruption.Dr Itua Herbal Medicine makes me believes there is a hope for people suffering from,Parkinson's disease,Schizophrenia,Lung Cancer,Breast Cancer,Lupus,Lymne Disease,psoriasis,Colo-Rectal Cancer,Blood Cancer,Prostate Cancer, siva.Fatal Familial Insomnia Factor V Leiden Mutation ,Epilepsy Dupuytren's disease,Desmoplastic small-round-cell tumor Diabetes ,Coeliac disease,Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease,Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy, Ataxia,Arthritis,Amyotrophic Lateral Scoliosis,Brain Tumor,Fibromyalgia,Fluoroquinolone Toxicity
