Paradise Dynasty, Ion Orchard

Colour up your life!

So I did! Not only mine but also my mum’s, by having the colourful Xiao Long Bao at Paradise Dysnasty, grins.

We had the Signature Dynasty Dumpling (8pieces) which comes in assorted flavours - Original, Garlic, Ginseng, Foie Gras, Black Truffle, Cheese, Crab Roe, and Szechuan. I believe we were not supposed to share the assorted colourful dumplings so we could taste all the different flavours, but we would like to try their la mian which is known to be good too.

Consequently, we decided to share the xiao long bao. Mum was quite happy to have tried out this gimmick in her trip to Singapore last weekend. Amongst those that she had tried (I had the garlic and the black truffle only so mum can get to try on more flavours), she likes the cheese ones the most.

We were somehow warned by the waitress that the la mian we would like to order was really quite hot. Nonetheless, we decided to give it a try. So, we had the La Mian with Poached Marbled Beef in Szechuan style. The spiciness of the noodles was not those kinds that would burn your throat, but it left numbness in your tongue. The noodle was quite springy and the beef was quite tender but the soup base was really oily, a thick layer of chili oil, OMG! *faints*

Mum would also like to try out the Pork Dumpling in Hot Chili Sauce. And so we ordered it….

The numbness from the La Mian was quite long-lasting. Hence, we decided that we should have something sweet despite being fairly full. We had the Souffle Egg White Balls stuffed with Red Bean and Banana to make our meal complete. Good excuse for dessert, isn’t it? However, it was not my type of dessert though it seems to be one of the popular desserts there. (I could be biased; banana is not one of my favourite fruits anyway :P)

A really fulfilling meal. Would go back again to try on their Signature Dynasty Dumpling ( I have only tried 2 flavours, remember?) and perhaps a not so oily la mian. *winks*
